Jean-Michel Raimond

Jean-Michel Raimond is a Professor in the Physics Department at Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS), Paris. He is renowned for his contributions to quantum physics, particularly in cavity quantum electrodynamics and quantum optics. His teaching includes advanced courses on analytical mechanics, relativity, electromagnetism (L3), classical field theory (M1), and atoms and photons (M2).

With Serge Haroche, he co-authored the graduate textbook Exploring the Quantum: Atoms, Cavities, and Photons, a foundational resource in quantum information and cavity QED. His research focuses on the interaction between atoms and photons in high-finesse cavities, advancing quantum computing and communication.

He is affiliated with the ENS Physics Laboratory and has contributed to the development of quantum engineering curricula through the ICFP Master's program. His work is integral to the Kastler Brossel Laboratory, a leading center for quantum physics research.
