Jean-Marie Chevalier

Jean-Marie Chevalier is a Lecturer and Head of the Philosophy Department at Université Paris-Est Créteil Val de Marne (UPEC). He also co-directs the Epistemology Research Group at the Collège de France and serves on the editorial board of Cahiers philosophiques.

His research spans:

• Logic (with emphasis on Charles S. Peirce)
• Metaphysics and philosophy of mind
• Intersections of cognition and aesthetics

Chevalier has authored significant books including What is Reasoning? (2015) and Peirce or the Invention of Epistemology (2021). His articles frequently examine historical figures (Kant, Peirce, MacColl) through contemporary theoretical frameworks.
