Jean-Louis Arcand

Jean-Louis Arcand is a Professor of International Economics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva since 2008. He previously served as Director of the Centre for Finance and Development (2012-2016) and Chair of Development Studies (2009-2012). A Founding Fellow of the European Union Development Network (EUDN) and Senior Fellow at FERDI, his work bridges development economics, global health, and policy evaluation.

Jean-Louis Arcand has served as a consultant for the World Bank, FAO, UNDP, and national governments. He leads multi-year impact evaluations in Angola, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, The Gambia, Mali, Morocco, and Senegal, focusing on peer mentoring for HIV/AIDS and rural producer organization capacity-building.
