Jean Lantz Reisz serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Law and Co-Director of the USC Immigration Clinic at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. She teaches Immigration Clinic I and II, Immigration Detention and Appellate Clinic, Legal Profession, and the undergraduate course LAW 212: Immigration for a New America, supervising law students in direct client representation for immigration relief.

Research and Practice Focus Professor Reisz specializes in immigration law with emphasis on asylum, Convention Against Torture protection, VAWA petitions, U visas, and detention advocacy. Her clinical work addresses humanitarian relief for vulnerable populations through removal defense, habeas corpus petitions, and medical-legal partnerships.
Advising and Professional Engagement She directs student representation in Immigration Court, BIA, and Ninth Circuit proceedings while overseeing the Immigrant Legal Assistance Center for the USC community. Partnerships with AltaMed and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles extend services to immigrant children via La Linterna clinic, and she consults for film/TV productions through the Norman Lear Center.
Clinical Infrastructure The USC Immigration Clinic operates through interdisciplinary collaborations with healthcare institutions, integrating legal aid into medical settings to address systemic barriers for immigrant families.
