Jean-Francois Hennart is a Professor of International Management at Tilburg University (since 1999), affiliated with the Tilburg School of Economics and Management and the Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship. He holds an ORCID identifier (0000-0001-6737-8620) and has held previous academic positions including Professor and Associate Professor at the University of Illinois, The Wharton School, and Florida International University. His professional career spans roles as a Senior Economist, UN Expert, and Maryland government economist.
Research interests focus on applying transaction cost theory to multinational enterprises, foreign market entry modes (licensing, equity joint ventures), and strategic management. Key areas include international business institutions, equity joint ventures, and corporate policy.
