Jean Egbegi

Jean Egbegi is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management at the University of Northampton, affiliated with the Faculty of Business and Law and the Department of Human Resource Management & Organisational Behaviour. She holds a PhD from the University of Bedfordshire, focusing on performance management in Nigeria's public health sector. Her academic qualifications include a BSc in Computer Science (Nnamdi Azikiwe University), MSc in HRM (University of Southampton), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education. She is also a Fellow of the Advance Higher Education (2017) and a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) member.

Her research interests center on performance management, particularly informal activities and HRM topics in diverse contexts. She actively reviews for ABS-ranked journals such as Human Resource Development International and chairs the Performance Management Special Interest Group at the British Academy of Management. Jean leads undergraduate and postgraduate HRM programs, including the BA Human Resource Management, and teaches in the DBA program.

Key research outputs include studies on pandemic impacts on performance management, institutional theory applications, and challenges in Nigeria’s public health sector. Awards include her Advance HE fellowship. Jean supervises doctoral students and contributes to academic community roles like journal reviewing and conference organizing.
