Jean Clobert is a Research Professor at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), leading the Experimental Ecology Research Station in Moulis, France since 2007. He was affiliated with Pierre et Marie Curie University (now Sorbonne Université) and École Normale Supérieure in Paris, France from 1988 to 2006.
Education:
- Graduate in Zoology (1975) with great distinction, Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium
- PhD in Zoological Sciences (1981) with the Greatest Distinction, Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium
Research Interests: Jean specializes in evolutionary ecology, focusing on conservation biology, population dynamics, animal movement and dispersal, and evolutionary physiology. His work integrates biometry and genetic ecology to study ecological systems in changing environments.
Major Projects: He spearheaded the 2010-2011 construction of the Metatron, a large experimental infrastructure comprising 48 connected enclosures to analyze replicated meta-ecosystems.

- Awards: Adolph Wetrens award (1995, Belgian Academy of Science), ISI Highly Cited (2007)
- Grants: Secured €3.5 million (2005) and €6.4 million (2008) for experimental research station development, plus grants for DIAME (2008-10), SCALES (2008-14), TenLamas (2009-11), and MOBIGEN (2010-15)
