Jaynaya Dwyer is a Lecturer at the University of Melbourne's Melbourne Law School, affiliated with the Indigenous Law and Justice Hub. She focuses on decolonizing legal education, Indigenous justice, and fostering empathy in future lawyers. Her work includes curriculum reform, hosting the White Noise podcast, and teaching innovative subjects like Treaty: Indigenous-Settler Agreements and Racial Justice.
Previously, she served as a Legal Policy Officer in the Commonwealth Attorney General’s Department, leading diversity initiatives and policy development to center marginalized voices. Her heritage—Anglo-Indian and Irish, raised on Wurundjeri Country—shapes her commitment to First Nations justice movements and decolonization efforts.
