Jay Wickenden

Jay Wickenden is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the Department of Chemistry at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He is affiliated with the Faculty of Science and contributes to research and education in organic chemistry, with a focus on radical reactions and synthesis.

His research interests include Noble Gas Chemistry and the development of synthetic methods using radical cyclizations. Recent work explores the generation of aminyl radicals via substoichiometric stannane and the construction of carbo- and heterocycles via radical relay cyclizations initiated by alkoxy radicals.
