Gregory Dake is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of British Columbia. With expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, his research focuses on organometallic catalysis, heterocyclic synthesis, and the development of novel ligands for asymmetric catalysis. A dedicated educator, he has taught core organic chemistry courses (CHEM_V 123, 203, 213, 313, 341, 411/566) and graduate-level courses on inorganic catalysts in organic synthesis.

Selected awards include the 2010 Science Undergraduate Society Teaching Excellence Award, the 2012 UBC Killam Teaching Prize, and the 2013 UBC Sustainability Teaching and Learning Fellow designation. He currently serves as Undergraduate Advisor and previously held roles including Associate Head, Undergraduate (2016-2025).
His recent publications highlight innovations in catalytic heterocycle formation, asymmetric ligand design, and applications of organometallic compounds in synthesis. Collaborative projects span organic chemistry, polymer science, and interdisciplinary biochemistry applications.
