Jay Kunin

Jay Kunin, PhD, is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of San Diego. With over 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur, consultant, and investor, he has founded or co-founded seven companies and advised numerous ventures across healthcare, biotechnology, and software industries. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from MIT, alongside SM and SB degrees in Earth and Planetary Sciences and Physical Sciences from MIT.

His research and professional interests span health technology innovation, healthcare systems, and entrepreneurship. His advisory work includes roles at institutions like the Australian Institute for Commercialisation and New Zealand’s government.

Dr. Kunin has taught at MIT, UC San Diego, and business schools including the University of Denver. He is a member of Tech Coast Angels and previously served as Vice President of Life Sciences for its Board of Governors.
