Javier Garcia Tojal

Javier Garcia Tojal serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences, Universidad de Burgos, Spain. He is an active member of the MOWUTO Oxygen Transfer research group, focusing on experimental and theoretical aspects of inorganic reaction mechanisms.

He obtained his PhD in 1997 from the Universidad del País Vasco (Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea) under the supervision of Dr. Teófilo Rojo Aparicio. His doctoral research examined transition metal thiosemicarbazone complexes, analyzing their structural configurations, spectroscopic signatures, magnetic behaviors, and biological activity profiles.

Dr. Garcia Tojal's research spans fundamental inorganic chemistry with emphasis on:

• Molecular oxygen transfer processes
• Transition metal coordination chemistry
• Spectroscopic characterization techniques
• Magnetic property analysis of metal complexes
• Bioinorganic applications of synthetic compounds
• Reaction mechanism elucidation in metal-mediated systems

His current work within the MOWUTO group investigates catalytic oxygen transfer pathways relevant to both industrial and biological contexts, leveraging advanced synthetic and analytical methodologies to probe reaction intermediates and kinetics.
