Javier Garcia-German is a Tenured Professor of Architectural Design at the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) since 2007 and a Design Critic at Harvard Graduate School of Design. He co-founded the award-winning firm TAAs, focusing on climate-adaptive architecture, and directs the 'Climate, Metabolism and Architecture' program in two master's degrees (MCH and MAEBB). He also co-edits the historic journal ARQUITECTURA.
Education: Ph.D. in Architecture from ETSAM (2014), Master in Design Studies from Harvard (2004, as a Fulbright Scholar), and studies at Oxford School of Architecture. Graduated with honors (Premio Extraordinario) from ETSAM in 2002.
Research Interests: Explores intersections of climate resilience, material flows, and thermodynamics in architecture. Key themes include designing atmospheric quality through ecological tectonics and sustainable urban solutions for energy transitions.
