Dr. Jasper Reid is a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at King's College London, based in the Department of Philosophy within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. He holds a PhD from Princeton University (2000) and a BA from Clare College, Cambridge (1995). His research focuses on early modern philosophy, particularly Cartesianism, Cambridge Platonism, and immaterialism, with a special interest in metaphysical and epistemological debates. Reid has authored The Metaphysics of Henry More and contributed to numerous journals and encyclopedias. He teaches modules on modern philosophy and supervises PhD students in early modern topics. His work explores the interplay between philosophy and religion, science, and metaphysics in figures like Descartes, Berkeley, and Malebranche.
Reid has contributed to public philosophy via the 'Ask Philosophers' website and is affiliated with the Centre for Enlightenment Studies.
