Jasper Muis

Jasper Muis is an Assistant Professor in the Sociology Department at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Social Inequality and the Life Course (SILC) research group. He earned a cum laude PhD in Social Sciences (2012) and a Master's in Sociology (2000). His work focuses on far-right populism, protest behavior, nationalism, and political communication, employing agent-based modeling and content analysis. Recognized with awards like the Praemium Erasmianum Research Prize, he teaches courses on research methodology and statistics. Recent projects include the VU Nextdoor neighborhood study examining social cohesion and the impact of digital platforms on far-right discourse.
