Dr. Jason Yuh is an Assistant Professor of Religion and Theology at Redeemer University. He holds a Ph.D. in New Testament and Early Christianity from the University of Toronto (2024), an M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary (2015), and a B.Sc. in Information Science and Technology from Drexel University (2005). His research focuses on New Testament texts and early Christian practices, employing interdisciplinary methods such as neuroscience, epigraphy, and ritual studies. He previously served as an ordained pastor for five years and worked in software product management before entering academia. Dr. Yuh teaches courses including The Drama of Scripture and Theological Interpretation of the Bible, emphasizing engagement with biblical texts. His work examines rituals like baptism and eucharist within early Christian, Jewish, and Graeco-Roman contexts, exploring tradition and innovation in communal identity.
His research interests include early Judaism, Graeco-Roman religions, ritual studies, and sociological approaches to religion. He is deeply committed to integrating faith with academic rigor, framing his scholarship and teaching through a Christ-centered perspective. Beyond academia, he values family life and reflects on daily dependence on God’s grace, even during challenging seasons like his wife’s medical residency with young children.
