معرفی
Associate Professor Jason Scott is an Associate Director in the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and Deputy Leader of the Particle and Catalysis Research Group (PartCat), which he joined in 2002. With over two decades of experience, Professor Scott has established himself as a leading researcher in catalysis, photocatalysis, and sustainable energy technologies.
Professor Scott's research focuses on developing new materials, heterogeneous catalysis, and photo(electro)catalysis for environmental remediation and sustainable energy applications. His work addresses critical challenges in securing national and international energy resources while tackling environmental pollution. Key research areas include particle fabrication, photocatalysis, photoelectrocatalysis, and heterogeneous catalysis, with applications in hydrogen production, CO2 conversion, and waste-to-energy technologies. His publications reveal a strong emphasis on solar-driven systems that harness renewable energy for chemical transformations and environmental remediation.
Professor Scott has successfully supervised or co-supervised 29 PhD students and 7 Masters students, with 11 PhD students currently under his supervision. He has also mentored over 60 undergraduate students through Honors thesis projects. His research has been supported by over AUD$20 million in competitive funding as Chief Investigator, including significant projects from the Australian Research Council (ARC), Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), and other major funding bodies.
Professor Scott leads the Particle and Catalysis Research Group (PartCat) at UNSW, which has established itself as a leading center for catalysis research in Australia. The group maintains advanced facilities for catalyst synthesis, characterization, and testing, supporting both fundamental and applied research in energy and environmental technologies. Their work spans from fundamental materials development to applied technology demonstration, with strong industry connections and international collaborations.
