Jason Schwab is an Associate Professor in the Visual Arts Department and Technology Director of the Brown Innovation Center at Flagler College. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from Columbus College of Art & Design. His work blends photography and sculpture, emphasizing hybrid artistic practices. Key exhibitions include 'Speak Soft(er) and Carry a Big Stick' and collaborations with Leslie Robison. He received the 2015 Greater Columbus Arts Council Visual Art Fellowship and serves on the Board of Directors for the Mid-America College Art Association since 2016.
Teaching focuses on photography (levels I & II), sculpture, book arts, and visual culture. Courses include CDD 240 (photographic investigation of St. Augustine) and COR 153 (photography as critical discourse). Research interests span contemporary art practices, material exploration, and the intersection of technology with traditional media.
Notable professional contributions include board service, residencies at Vermont Studio Center and Wassaic, and publications in the Fourth International Photography Annual. His exhibitions often explore themes of identity, structure, and societal narratives through interdisciplinary approaches.
