معرفی
Jason Ross is a Professor and Department Chair in Physiology at Iowa State University. His research focuses on swine health, environmental stress impacts, and reproductive biology. Key areas include heat stress effects on ovarian function, microbiota analysis in sows, and genetic improvements in livestock. He holds the Lloyd Anderson Endowed Professorship and has authored numerous studies on livestock welfare and precision farming practices.
Education:
- PhD in Physiology, Oklahoma State University (2006)
- MS in Physiology, Oklahoma State University (2003)
- BS in Biology, Iowa State University (2000)
Research Interests: Dr. Ross investigates how environmental stressors (e.g., heat, toxins) affect livestock physiology, particularly in swine. His work addresses reproductive health, microbiome dynamics, and nutritional strategies to enhance animal resilience. Recent studies explore predictive models for bone mineral content and CRISPR-based therapies for genetic disorders.
Grants & Collaborations: Active projects include USDA-funded analyses of sow pelvic organ prolapse and heat stress mitigation strategies. His lab collaborates with industry partners on sustainable swine farming practices and precision livestock management tools.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Swine Reproductive Physiology Lab at Iowa State, focusing on translational research to improve livestock health and productivity.
