Jason Ozubko

Jason Ozubko is an Associate Professor in the Psychology and Neuroscience Department at SUNY Geneseo since 2015, specializing in cognitive psychology and memory research. He coordinates the Cognitive Science Minor and teaches courses in cognitive psychology, behavioral statistics, and advanced research seminars on topics like heuristics and misinformation.

Research Interests: Dr. Ozubko investigates human memory through experimental and neuroimaging approaches, focusing on:

• Episodic memory and distinctiveness effects
• Impact of semantics on memory processes
• Spatial memory and environmental navigation
• Longitudinal properties of forgetting
• Neuroimaging of memory systems
• Virtual reality applications in memory research

Laboratory: Leads the Human Cognition and Memory Lab, which studies interactions between episodic, semantic, and spatial memory using classic and immersive virtual reality paradigms.
