Jason Martel is a Professor of Language Education at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS), where he has taught since 2013. He holds administrative experience as former associate director of the Summer Intensive Language Program, TESOL/TFL program chair, and online MA TESOL program director. His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Second Languages and Cultures Education from the University of Minnesota, an M.A. in French from Middlebury College, and a B.Mus. in Viola Performance from Boston University.
Martel's research focuses on language curriculum design, assessment frameworks, and teacher professional development, with recent specialization in asynchronous online pedagogy. His scholarly contributions emphasize practical strategies for content-based instruction and technology-enhanced language teaching.
