Professor Jason Lotay is a faculty member at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Mathematical Institute. His research focuses on differential geometry and geometric analysis, particularly in areas such as special holonomy, calibrated submanifolds, and geometric flows including Lagrangian mean curvature flow and G2-Laplacian flow. He also explores gauge theory in higher dimensions and geometric problems arising from M-Theory and heterotic String Theory.
- Chancellor's Professorship, UC Berkeley, 2022-23
- Phyllis Beddington Wiener Chair 2025-2026
His recent work includes studies on heterotic SU(3) moduli spaces, neck pinch singularities in Lagrangian mean curvature flow, and G2-Laplacian co-flows. Key themes in his publications are special holonomy metrics, stability of geometric structures, and instantons on non-compact manifolds.
