Jason Lim is a Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Brighton’s School of Applied Sciences. He specializes in critical race theory, postcolonial studies, and LGBTQIA+ geographies, with affiliations to the Centre for Transforming Sexuality and Gender and the Society, Space and Environment group. His research interrogates ontological frameworks in political analyses, focusing on racism, migration, and sovereign power, while earlier work explored affective and bodily dimensions of racialized and gendered power dynamics.

Research Focus: Lim’s current work addresses decolonial critiques of ontology’s historical ties to colonialism and racism. His teaching emphasizes critical thinking, academic skills development, and the politics of knowledge production.
Collaborations: Co-investigator on the interdisciplinary Happiness Project (2014–2015), exploring well-being through arts and social science lenses. Active in peer-review for journals like Environment and Planning C and conferences on sexualities research.
