Jason Goldman

Jason Goldman is a Professor of Practice and Chair of the Jazz Studies department at the USC Thornton School of Music, University of Southern California. He is also the founder and leader of the award-winning 7Teen Big Band. With over 20 years in music education, Goldman is a Grammy-winning, multi-platinum selling record producer, songwriter, composer, arranger, and engineer.

His educational background includes:

• Master of Music (MM) from the University of Southern California
• Bachelor of Music (BM) from Berklee College of Music
• Advanced performance certificate from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz

Goldman's professional interests center on jazz performance, composition, and arranging. He specializes in big band and orchestral arrangements for contemporary artists, blending traditional jazz with modern pop and adult contemporary styles. His work as a producer and arranger for top artists like Michael Bublé demonstrates his expertise in creating commercially successful yet artistically rich musical projects.

Goldman founded and leads the award-winning 7Teen Big Band, which serves as a platform for emerging talent in jazz. The band has performed at major festivals including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Kennedy Center, Montreal Jazz Festival, Tri-C Jazz Festival, and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
