Jason G. Gillmore

Dr. Jason G. Gillmore is a Professor of Chemistry at Hope College, where he joined the faculty in 2004. He earned tenure in 2010 and was promoted to full professor in 2016. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Rochester (2003), an M.S. from Virginia Tech (1998), and a B.S. from Virginia Tech (1996). He has held visiting professorships at Michigan State University (2018–2019) and Arizona State University (2011–2012).

His research focuses on:

• Organic photochemistry and electrochemistry
• Design of photochromic materials and molecular switches
• Computational modeling of redox properties
• Development of photomechanical polymers and energy storage systems
• Pedagogical innovations in undergraduate research (CUREs)
