Jason D. Whitt is a Senior Lecturer in the Medical Humanities Program at Baylor University's Honors Residential College. He teaches courses in Medical Humanities, coordinates the Baylor Medical Ethics Seminar, and co-directs the William Carey Crane Scholars Program.
- Education: B.A. in Religion from Baylor University (1996), Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1999), Ph.D. in Theology from Baylor University (2008)
His research focuses on the theology of disability, faith and medicine intersections, and ecclesiology, with publications addressing bioethics, disability inclusivity in churches, and virtue ethics in healthcare. His recent articles emphasize religious ethics in disability studies, workplace organizational behavior, and theological pedagogy. He has received the Albert Venting, Jr. Memorial Award and served on various committees, including the Teal Residential College Board of Directors and Christian Pre-Health Fellowship mentorship. Dr. Whitt also integrates personal narratives into theological and ethical discourse, particularly through his experiences as a parent of a special-needs child. This work informs his advocacy for inclusivity in both academic and religious institutions.
