Jason D Harry is the Hugh W. Pearson ’58 Professor of the Practice of Technology and Entrepreneurship at the School of Engineering, Brown University. With 40+ years of experience in medical devices and early-stage venturing, he teaches entrepreneurship across undergraduate, graduate, and executive programs while focusing on technology-business intersections.
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering/Biophysics (Harvard University)
- MS in Mechanical Engineering (MIT)
- BS in Mechanical Engineering (Georgia Tech)
His research bridges engineering, biophysics, and medical technology commercialization. At Brown, he led the Breakthrough Lab accelerator for 7 years and specializes in NIH SBIR grant funding strategies. Courses taught include Transforming Society: Technology and Choices for the Future (ENGN 0020), The Entrepreneurial Process (ENGN 1010), and Technology Entrepreneurship (ENGN 2150).
