Dr. Jason Collins is an Assistant Teaching Professor and ENGR Communication Course Coordinator at the University of Victoria's School of Engineering. They joined the Academic and Technical Writing Program (ATWP) in 2022, focusing on first-year writing, engineering, and business communication. Their research explores intersections of Rhetorical studies, Indigenous Studies, and Science and Technology Studies, emphasizing equitable engagement between Western science practices and Indigenous knowledge systems. Collins is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz (Tututni) and currently develops initiatives connecting engineering and computer science students with local Indigenous communities to address community-driven design needs.
