Jason C. Garvey

Dr. Jason C. Garvey is the Executive Director for the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment and the Friedman-Hipps Green and Gold Associate Professor of Education at the University of Vermont. He merges data-informed decision making with social change in higher education.

Dr. Garvey’s research focuses on queer and trans inclusion in education, survey design, and quantitative methods. His work examines campus climate, financial barriers for LGBTQ+ students, identity development, and structural equity in higher education and STEM fields.

Recent publications highlight trends in quantitative criticalism, STEM equity for marginalized identities, and institutional data practices. His research often intersects race, gender, and sexual orientation through queer and trans of color critiques.
