Jason C Travers is a Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the College of Education and Human Development, Temple University, where he coordinates undergraduate and graduate programs in special education and applied behavior analysis. A former public school teacher for students with autism, he integrates practical experience into his academic leadership and research.
His research centers on autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities, with emphasis on evidence-based education for children with interfering behaviors. Key interests include sexuality education for autistic learners, racial disparities in autism identification, critique of pseudoscientific interventions, and methodological rigor in single case experimental design. He actively advances open science principles to combat selective reporting and questionable research practices.
Professor Travers serves as a consultant for U.S. Department of Justice investigations on unjustified restraint and seclusion of disabled students in public schools. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in behavior support while leading program coordination for special education and applied behavior analysis curricula.
