معرفی
Jason Belden is a Professor and Department Head of Integrative Biology at Oklahoma State University (OSU). He holds a PhD in Toxicology from Iowa State University, an MS in Biology from Wichita State University, and a BS in Biology from Southwestern College. His research focuses on environmental toxicology and ecotoxicology, addressing topics like carcinogens in playground soil, pesticide seed treatments, passive samplers for algal toxins, and microplastic bioavailability. He has been affiliated with OSU since 2007, progressing from Assistant to Associate Professor before becoming a full Professor in 2020. His work spans over 80 peer-reviewed publications, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to ecological and human health risks. Key projects include assessing pesticide mixtures' impacts on pollinators, optimizing passive samplers for munitions constituents, and evaluating constructed wetlands' efficacy in removing nursery runoff pollutants.
Research highlights include studies on amphibian developmental toxicity in outdoor enclosures, synergistic pesticide effects on honeybees, and environmental characterization of military munitions. He has secured grants from agencies like the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Grant River Dam Authority. Belden's teaching includes courses on ecotoxicology, genomics, and research supervision for graduate students. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Health), 6 (Clean Water), 14 (Life Below Water), and 15 (Life on Land).
