Jason Beech is a Researcher in Solid State Physics at Lund University's Faculty of Engineering (LTH). He is affiliated with NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience and contributes to LTH Profile Areas in Engineering Health, Nanoscience and Semiconductor Technology, and LU's Light and Materials research group.
His research focuses on microfluidics-based particle separation, including device fabrication in PDMS/glass, advanced microscopy (fluorescence, confocal, TIRF), and applications like parasite separation from blood and dielectrophoresis-based cell sorting. He collaborates on projects such as the Microfluidic Preparation and Transport of Long DNA using Pillar Arrays and Emergent Behavior of Living Neuronal Networks.
Key research tools include micro/nanofluidics, optical tweezers, and electrokinetic techniques. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in addressing environmental and health challenges through microfluidic innovations.
Beech advises students like Stefan Holm and manages the Biophysics labs within the Solid State Physics division, contributing to interdisciplinary projects in biophysics and nanotechnology.
