Research Interests: Beckett's scholarship has evolved from mainstream Public International Law (Law of the Sea, Use of Force) to critical analyses of the discipline's biases, indeterminacy, and exclusion of non-European/White Male perspectives. Current research explores poverty, feminism, cultural pluralism, and the self-justification of mainstream legal discourse, alongside critiques of abstract legal critique and alternative approaches to international justice.
Teaching & Advocacy: At AUC, he teaches Public International Law, International Human Rights, Legal Perspectives on the Question of Palestine, and Jurisprudence. He actively coaches university teams in international mooting competitions (Telders', Jessup's, African Court of Human and Peoples' Rights) and has delivered presentations across four continents, balancing academic rigor with a classroom-centered ethos.
