Jason Beck serves as Assistant Dean at The Theatre School, DePaul University, and holds an adjunct faculty appointment teaching the 'Discover Chicago' course and directing productions for the BFA Acting program. With twenty-eight years of continuous service, he previously held leadership roles as Director of Admissions and Operations Manager, and serves on the Sarah Siddons Society Board of Governors.
His educational background includes:
- MBA from DePaul’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business (concentrations: Entrepreneurship; Strategy, Execution & Valuation)
- BFA from The Theatre School, DePaul University
Beck's professional expertise spans theatre direction, production, and Chicago-focused arts education. As a working theatre practitioner, he emphasizes practical industry experience through his 'Theatre Making in Chicago' curriculum and freelance directing/producing work. His MBA informs strategic approaches to arts management and theatrical entrepreneurship.
He co-founded Caffeine Theatre, serving seven years as Managing Director and two as Producing Artistic Director, producing 21 shows including seven Joseph Jefferson Award-nominated productions.
