Jasmeet Lamba is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University's College of Agriculture. His research focuses on environmental engineering, soil science, and agricultural sustainability, with a particular emphasis on nutrient management, contaminant transport, and biochar applications. He investigates issues such as phosphorus and nitrogen leaching, microplastic and PFAS interactions in ecosystems, and the effectiveness of cover crops and biochar in mitigating environmental impacts.
Recent work includes studies on land-use change impacts on hydrology, poultry litter application methods, and the co-transport of arsenic and biochar in porous media. His research integrates advanced technologies like X-ray computed tomography and machine learning to analyze soil pore structures and optimize irrigation practices. Lamba collaborates on projects addressing transboundary water quality in the La Plata Basin and climate change projections for rainfall patterns in the southeastern U.S.
Key areas of expertise include agricultural waste management, sediment source apportionment using radiometric techniques, and the development of site-specific irrigation strategies. His contributions bridge environmental science, engineering, and agricultural practices to promote sustainable land management.
