Jaskiran Bhogal is a Guru Nanak Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College, University of Oxford. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science, awarded the Alfred Gell Scholarship, and focuses on the Sikh diaspora in Britain.

Her research explores the preservation of intangible Sikh heritage through practices like childbirth and homemaking in the British diaspora, emphasizing the role of Guru Nanak Sahib’s teachings in shaping cultural and spiritual spaces. She also examines how diasporic communities negotiate belonging, heritage, and sociopolitical identity in the UK and India.
Dr Bhogal has contributed to public health policy during the COVID-19 pandemic, served as a media consultant for the BBC’s documentary Being Sikh, and holds leadership roles as Managing Editor of the International Journal of Sikh Studies and Trustee at the Oxford Playhouse, advocating for diversity and inclusion.
