Jarusch Müßel is a Researcher at the Hertie School in Berlin, affiliated with the Centre for Sustainability and the ARIADNE project. He specializes in modeling flexible energy demand within integrated renewable energy systems, with contributions to mobility and heating sectors. Prior to joining the Hertie School in 2021, he analyzed climate-related supply chain risks in the chemical industry using life cycle assessment optimizations. Müßel holds degrees in economics and engineering from RWTH Aachen University and Lund University.
Research Focus: His work bridges energy systems modeling, climate policy analysis, and sustainability science. Key areas include renewable energy integration, demand-side flexibility, and environmental impacts of industrial processes.
