Dr Jarrod Kennedy is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the ANZAC Research Institute, part of the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Sydney. His research focuses on autoimmune diseases, inverse vaccines, and biomedical engineering applications. He completed his PhD in 2018 at the University of Sydney under Prof. Allison Abendroth and Dr. Megan Steain, studying Varicella Zoster Virus. Previously, he worked at CSL developing stem cell gene therapies for genetic disorders like Sickle Cell Anaemia. His current work investigates immune tolerance mechanisms in autoimmune diseases.
Education:
- PhD in Virology/Immunology (2018), University of Sydney
- Autoimmune Disease Treatment
- Infection and Immune System Interactions
- Healthy Ageing Mechanisms
Recent work emphasizes viral modulation of immune cells (e.g., NK cells, monocytes) and innate immunity pathways. Studies published in Frontiers in Immunology, PLoS Pathogens, and Journal of Virology highlight his expertise in virology and immunopathogenesis.
