Jarmin Yeh, PhD, MPH, MSSW, is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences at the School of Nursing, University of California San Francisco (UCSF). They are also a sociologist, gerontologist, and age-friendly cities/health researcher working to advance social justice for older adults, people with dementia, and caregivers.
- Director of the CARING (Community Action Research in Gerontology) Lab, focusing on community-based, interdisciplinary health equity projects
- Co-director of the UCSF Emancipatory Sciences Lab, originally founded by Dr. Carroll L. Estes
Research and Community Impact
- Core focus: Health equity in aging, dementia care systems, age-friendly city design, and anti-Asian racism during the pandemic
- Key projects: Competency training for home care workers, 4Ms Framework for age-friendly health systems, and visual methods co-research with older adults
