Jared Taylor is a Professor in the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology at Oklahoma State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University, an MPH in Public Health from the University of Iowa, and a DVM from Virginia Tech. Dr. Taylor is also board certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine.
Dr. Taylor received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia Tech in 2002, followed by a Master of Public Health from the University of Iowa in 2004, and completed his PhD in Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University in 2008. His professional certifications include Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (2008-present) and the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (2009-present), along with Oklahoma State Veterinary Licensure (2005-present).
Dr. Taylor's research interests span veterinary medicine, epidemiology, and public health with a particular focus on food animal production, infectious diseases, and pharmacokinetics. His work examines antibiotic therapies in neonatal foals, vaccine efficacy in beef cattle, anthelmintic resistance, viral pathogenesis of diseases like influenza D and bovine viral diarrhea virus, and the intersection of veterinary medicine with public health issues including pandemic response. His research has significant implications for improving animal health while addressing food safety and public health concerns.
