Dr. Barry Whitworth is a Senior Lecturer and Senior Extension Specialist in the Department of Animal & Food Sciences at Oklahoma State University (OSU). He holds dual appointments with OSU Extension, focusing on Food & Animal Health. Previously, he practiced as a mixed-animal veterinarian for 24 years before joining OSU in 2014 as an Area Food/Animal Quality and Health Specialist. Since 2023, he has served as the State BQA (Beef Quality Assurance) Coordinator and leads educational programs for livestock producers.

Research Interests: Dr. Whitworth specializes in animal health extension, biosecurity, livestock disease management, and producer education. He develops hands-on programs such as the Calving Time Management course, using tools like the Hereford Dystocia Simulator to train producers in difficult birth management.
