Jared David Barber

Dr. Jared David Barber, known as 'Profe' by his students, is an Assistant Professor of Global Studies at Colorado Christian University (CCU), within the College of Undergraduate Studies - School of Humanities and Social Sciences. He brings nearly a decade of experience in Christian higher education, having previously served at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, where he taught Linguistics, Spanish, and TESL and directed both the TESL program and the LU Spanish Institute.

He emphasizes critical thinking, communication skills, and ethical professionalism as tools for cultural transformation.

His recent publications explore language mindsets and foreign language anxiety, as well as reflective practices in second language teacher education, indicating a strong interest in the psychological and pedagogical dimensions of language learning. These works reflect trends in educational linguistics, cognitive-affective factors in learning, and teacher development.
