Janusz Limon

Janusz Limon is a former Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Gdańsk, with a distinguished career in medical genetics and oncology. His research focuses on genetic disorders, cancer genomics, and molecular pathology, with notable contributions to understanding Huntington’s disease, melanoma genetics, and familial hypercholesterolemia. He has authored over 478 publications and supervised 15 promoted theses. His work includes pioneering studies on mitochondrial DNA in neurodegenerative diseases and the application of genomic technologies in prenatal diagnostics. Limon has also contributed to clinical guidelines for managing lipid disorders in pediatric populations.
