Janos Simon is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Chicago. His research focuses on computational complexity, algorithms, and distributed systems, with special interests in lower bound techniques and fault-tolerant models. He serves as Editor in Chief of the Chicago Journal of Theoretical Computer Science.
His research explores diverse areas including combinatorial algorithms for optical networks, distributed computing in mobile networks, and biologically-inspired computational models. Work spans theoretical foundations to applied problems in vehicular networks and sensor systems.
Professor Simon has supervised numerous PhD students in theoretical computer science and maintains active collaborations in fault-tolerant distributed computations and complexity theory.
