Jannik Hartung is a researcher at the Institute for Application Security under the Carl-Friedrich Gauss Faculty at Technical University of Braunschweig. He joined the university in December 2020 as a PhD candidate, contributing to low-level system security, binary exploitation, and code analysis research.
- Research focus on low-level system security, binary exploitation, and code analysis.
- Active participant in Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions, having qualified for the DEFCON CTF finals.
He serves as a teaching assistant for courses like Seclab, Hacklab, and Seminar since 2021. His work includes supervising theses on topics such as Exploring and Fuzzing the Starlink User Terminal Firmware (2025) and Evaluation of Fuzzing Techniques for Automotive ECUs (2024).
