Jann Strybny

Prof. Jann Strybny serves as Professor at the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer and holds a dual role as Co-Lead of the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES)’s Nachhaltige Maritime Mobilität (Sustainable Maritime Mobility) group. His work focuses on sustainable shipping solutions through wind propulsion systems, hybrid energy technologies, and numerical modeling of maritime flows. He co-leads collaborative projects between the university and Fraunhofer IWES, emphasizing emission-free shipping through innovations like Flettner rotors and sail-assisted propulsion.
