Janis Moye

Janis Moye is an Academic Staff Member in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. She lectures on building materials fundamentals and their role in structural preservation. Her current work includes supervising the InterFlex module of the concrete canoe race 2022 and pursuing a dual doctorate in collaboration with the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM).

Research Focus: Development and characterization of alkali-activated mortars (AAM) for sustainable concrete repair, aiming to replace traditional cement with industrial residual materials to reduce CO2 emissions. Her work includes evaluating material robustness, durability, bond strength, and resistance to environmental factors like freeze-thaw cycles and acid exposure.

Projects: Her research involves developing AAM formulations optimized for structural compatibility, re-alkalization of carbonated concrete, and microstructural analysis. She collaborates with BAM on these investigations and applies her findings to practical case studies, including a reference project for real-world validation.
