Janine Carlock

Janine Carlock is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Pittsburgh’s Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences. With nearly 30 years of experience teaching ESL and 15 years instructing first-year composition, she has contributed significantly to academic writing programs. She co-developed the Freshman Engineering Writing Program and served as a consultant for the University Writing Center for 17 years. Her freelance editing spans engineering, bioinformatics, health sciences, philosophy, and business. She authored three books—two on writing pedagogy and one on information literacy—and actively explores innovations in teaching methodologies and learning science.
