Maureen Gallagher is a Teaching Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Pittsburgh, affiliated with the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences and the First Year Programs. She specializes in composition studies and public and professional writing, teaching courses such as Seminar in Composition—Topics in Diversity, First Year Seminar, Writing for the Public, Critical Writing, and Corporate Storytelling.
Her research focuses on AI literacy, humor studies, composition pedagogy, critical race studies, contemporary American poetry, and gender studies. She holds a PhD in English from Duquesne University and an MA in Literary Studies from Georgia State University.
Prior to her current role, she taught at Slippery Rock University and Duquesne University. She is based at the 449 Cathedral of Learning and can be reached at mag491@pitt.edu.
