Janine Brill is a Scientific Associate and doctoral student at the Professorship of Media Communication, Institute for Media Research, Faculty of Arts, Chemnitz University of Technology, a position she has held since October 2023. Previously, she was a research associate at the University of Erfurt and Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

- PhD candidate in Media Communication, Chemnitz University of Technology (since 2023)
Brill's research centers on health communication, with a focus on health information behavior, health literacy, and digital health solutions (mHealth and eHealth). She also investigates migration and health, particularly how first-generation migrants in Germany navigate health information and the role of acculturation. Additional interests include media framing of crime and migrants, and health nudging interventions.
Her recent publications reflect a strong emphasis on health communication during the pandemic, including studies on information behavior and the effectiveness of nudges for infection control. She also examines media representations of crime, especially regarding migrants, using mixed-methods approaches.

As a doctoral student, Brill does not supervise students. She is actively involved in the "FoMo" subproject of MOTRA and serves as the YECREA Representative for the Health Communication Section of ECREA. She is also a member of the IMISCOE Meth@Mig committee.
Brill collaborates with the research team at the Professorship of Media Communication, led by Prof. Dr. Veronika Karnowski, and participates in international networks including IMISCOE and ECREA.
